Norway needs many new private jobs in the coming decades to maintain our welfare level. At the same time, parts of Northern Norway face demographic challenges – outmigration and an increasingly older population – and need new, exciting job opportunities to reverse the trend. One of the most important job creators in Norway is growth companies.
The association BAN Arctic has recently been established to inspire and mobilize sustainable investments in Northern Norway. This initiative originates from a pilot project carried out in collaboration with Arctic Accelerator and BAN. The project is funded by Innovasjon Norge and Samfunnsløftet to develop an environment for angel investing in Northern Norway.
The project aims to increase access to private venture capital in the early stages of newly established growth businesses' lives, thereby increasing the likelihood of businesses succeeding in growing and creating jobs and increased economic activity.
